Ironshore Financial, LLC (Ironshore) is an independent, SEC-registered investment adviser focused on delivering ERISA fiduciary services to qualified retirement plans and their sponsors. Discretionary and non-discretionary investment services are currently provided to plans with total assets amounting to almost $1.1 billion and benefiting nearly 8,000 participants as of December 31, 2023.

Ironshore is owned and operated by Dean Speer, a highly credentialed professional who has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including more than a decade managing investments in the retirement plan industry. In addition to his seasoned practice, Mr. Speer’s expertise in fiduciary advisory services is evidenced by multiple professional designations:

  • CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst

  • CIPM – Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement

  • CPFA – Certified Plan Fiduciary Analyst

 

Mr. Speer earned a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting from the University of Alabama.  He is a member of the CFA Institute, the National Association of Plan Advisors, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Hailing from the Southeast, Dean’s values are based on conservative, Christian beliefs and most prominently demonstrate qualities of transparency, honesty, loyalty and integrity. When not focused on career matters, Dean’s interests include SCUBA diving, Texas Hold ’em and reading the works of his favorite authors. He is an avid college football fan, who served several years as a “scout” on the Selection Committees for the Florida Citrus, Capital One and Tangerine bowls.
